Celebrating Ryan Kowalczyk’s Remarkable Rise to Senior BIM Manager

In the world of architectural design, construction, and facilities management, myBIMteam embraces innovation and technology, including the latest in BIM project management and support, or providing drawing plans, virtual tours, and digital twins of your buildings. We proudly announce the promotion of one of our leaders, Ryan Kowalczyk.

Step into the world of architectural design, construction, and facilities management with myBIMteam. We’re dedicated to innovation and technology, including the latest in BIM project management and support, or providing plans, Revit models, virtual tours, and digital twins of your buildings. Today, we are thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotion of one of our key leaders, Ryan Kowalczyk.

Ryan’s advancement to Senior BIM Manager results from his diligence and commitment to excellence, making him an invaluable asset to our organization. As he steps into this new role, we look forward to his contributions to delivering productive and practical BIM solutions.

Ryan’s Journey of Dedication and Achievement

Ryan’s journey with myBIMteam began in 2018 when he joined as a BIM Manager with a passion for modeling, proficiency in software problem-solving, and assisting designers in navigating the complexities of Revit. With a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and an architecture license, Ryan brought knowledge and experience to our team.

Ryan’s career showcases his diverse background in architecture. He began by focusing on single-family residences before transitioning into higher education, which includes classrooms, offices, dormitories, and auditoriums. Some new construction and some renovation. He has seen the birth of a project at client proposals, completion at the building’s ribbon cutting, and all aspects in between.

“In my youth, I caddied for my father during golf club championship tournaments. My role was to make his job as easy as possible. I needed to be invisible but ready for immediate assistance. I apply those same lessons to my profession. I strive to help clients quickly and offer effective advice grounded in documentation standards while under deadline pressure. As a once practicing architect, I am sympathetic to the needs of the users.”

The Expectations of a Senior BIM Manager

Ryan’s promotion comes with expanded responsibilities, including:

  • Leadership and Support: Ryan supports other BIM Managers and Technicians through coaching, task assignment, and work review.
  • BIM Best Practices: Leading updates to our Best Practice BIM Recommendation processes, ensuring we stay current with design trends and software updates.
  • Client Management: Ryan engages in short and long-term planning for clients, recommending improved standard workflows.
  • Colleague Supervision: He aids and onboards BIM Managers, Support Specialists, and BIM Technicians.
  • Business Development: Ryan promotes BIM solutions to acquire new business.

Satisfied BIM Users

Ryan develops onboarding procedures to help new hires get accustomed to office standards very quickly. The new staff always appreciate clarity in Revit expectations while reducing the need for extensive instruction by senior staff.

For example, with Dyer Brown Associates, Ryan personally onboards new team members through two 2-hour sessions, regardless of their Revit abilities. The new staff also completes an introductory project developed by Ryan. The combination of demonstration and hands-on learning allows team members to immediately dive into projects using Dyer Brown Associates standards.

Ryan’s Promotion Marks a Bright Future for myBIMteam

Ryan’s growth is a testament to his enthusiasm and expertise. We are confident he will lead us to greater heights. His leadership, mentoring, and focus on best practices will enhance myBIMteam’s reputation for supplying BIM solutions for the AECO community.

“myBIMteam has been wonderful in providing me the space to grow while recognizing my contributions. I’m happy to be part of this family. I’m looking forward to working with our current team and future members to share and debate Revit trends and best practices. I am always curious for practical anecdotes.”
