Strengthening Bonds and Making Memories: myBIMteam’s 2024 Company Retreat

The day we arrived in Orlando, the excitement was palpable as we kicked off our company retreat with a fun game night. UNO became serious business with our ever-changing midgame rules and voting. Jean and Sophia’s unique UNO rules were a hit, prompting us to consider creating the myBIMteam edition, which may include a rule stating Ryan gets to take a turn once in a while!

The following morning, Justin treated the team to a delicious breakfast of eggs. As we snacked and joked around, we found Greg, who, contrary to rumors, wasn’t actually lost!

Our first day led us to Universal Studios Orlando, where our day was a whirlwind of thrilling rides, magical moments at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and encounters with beloved characters like Little Nemo, Betty Boop, and Blue. Tracy P.’s highlight was meeting Captain America and showcasing her impressive skills. Meanwhile, Troy and Tracy M. were captivated by the structure and details of Hogwarts Castle. As for Bo, her heart raced on the winding and twisting Hulk roller coaster.

That evening, we dined at the iconic Hard Rock Cafe Orlando, the largest of its kind. We enjoyed touring the restaurant’s rooms filled with memorabilia, adding to the experience. After an adventurous day, most of us turned in early to rest up for the next day’s activities.

On Saturday, we started our day with a scrumptious meal at PopStroke, followed by a spirited round of 36 holes of mini-golf. Matt and Ryan provided lessons to their teams. Cara dazzled us all by gracefully dancing Swan Lake while sinking putts. Zack, still riding the high from the previous night’s dinner, infused the game with a rock and roll vibe. Heather, on the other hand, mastered the “extra encouragement” technique. And then there’s Jason—his technique remains an enigma, leaving us all intrigued!

For our final night out, we savored a delectable dinner at the Italiano Villa Italiano, where the food and drinks were nothing short of fantastic. Afterward, we made our way back to the resort, eager for more fun and games. Zach proudly claimed the title of this year’s Rubik’s Cube champion, although some may not have received an invitation to compete… Cara brought The Genius Star, a delightful and quick game suitable for everyone. Then, Jon introduced us to Zioncheck or Mother May I, igniting our competitive spirits again.

We end this by sharing how immensely grateful we are to Troy and Tracy Mifsud for organizing a retreat we will never forget. Here’s to many more adventures and memories with myBIMteam!
