President

Troy Mifsud, the founder of myCADD (now myBIMteam) in 2003, is a visionary leader driving strategic planning and project management. With a pragmatic approach and exceptional facilitation skills, Troy brings diverse groups together to solve complicated projects effectively. With extensive experience in Design, Construction, and Facility Management, he specializes in optimizing workflows and enhancing project productivity through the application of software tools.

Recognized as an outstanding technical speaker, Troy excels at simplifying complex topics for universal comprehension. He has been a featured speaker at esteemed conferences and events hosted by industry organizations such as AGC, AIA, CSI, and Autodesk. As an accomplished author, Troy has created comprehensive video training books for Revit Architecture. His profound understanding of technology, the AECO industry, and software processes has established him as a respected authority in the CADD/BIM field.

Troy earned a Bachelor of Architecture Technology degree from Ryerson University in Toronto, which laid the foundation for his successful career in healthcare architecture. Subsequently, he served as the lead technical specialist for a prominent national Autodesk reseller, solidifying his expertise.

If you want to connect with Troy outside of work, you will find him at the golf course in the summer or on the slopes or curling ice in the winter.

Matt Jackson

VP & BIM Director

Matt Jackson started as a BIM Software Specialist at myCADD, now myBIMteam, in 2005. With a wealth of experience, he excels as a BIM Director, spearheading larger-scale projects and delivering top-notch CADD and BIM-related services to a wide array of industry professionals, including Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, Subcontractors, and Facilities Managers. Matt’s expertise spans implementation, training, project support, workflow processes, and construction coordination, ensuring seamless project execution and client satisfaction.

Drawing from his architectural background and education at the esteemed Boston Architectural College, Matt brings a unique blend of design insight and technical proficiency to his work.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Matt is an avid outdoors enthusiast. He finds solace and enjoyment in engaging in activities such as golfing, kayaking, and cultivating his own vegetable garden. This love for nature and recreation outside the office further enhances his ability to find balance and creativity in all aspects of life.

Cara DiPierro

BIM Director

Cara DePierro, a skilled BIM Manager, joined myBIMteam after accumulating 12 years of highly valuable expertise within architectural firms. With a career deeply immersed in the BIM field since 2004, Cara is strongly determined to contribute, employing a lead-by-example approach that motivates any team.

Before joining myBIMteam, Cara held a position at HOK’s London Office, where she expertly coordinated and utilized various digital technologies. Her project involvement encompassed diverse sectors, including aviation, retail, hotel, residential, mixed-use, and the latest venture in science and technology. This wide-ranging experience enabled her to excel in design at every stage, from initial planning and concept development to meticulously delivering construction documents. Cara’s unwavering dedication was crucial in completing significant projects, notably The Francis Crick Institute.

Cara holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Design degree from the University of Tennessee in 2002. This educational foundation has provided her with a solid framework for comprehensive architectural and design principles.

Cara is an indispensable asset to myBIMteam, consistently driving the organization’s focus on delivering outstanding results.

Ryan Kowalczyk

Senior BIM Manager

Ryan Kowalczyk, a dedicated professional with a passion for modeling, proficiency, and software problem-solving, joined myBIMteam in the fall of 2018. Since then, he has been instrumental in helping designers navigate the intricacies of Revit and BIM360.

As a licensed architect with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University, Ryan has cultivated a diverse background in the field. He began his career focusing on single-family residences before transitioning to the realm of higher education. Throughout his journey, Ryan has been involved in all phases of design, documentation, and construction administration for a variety of building types, including classrooms, offices, and dormitories.

Beyond his professional commitments, Ryan dedicates his time to restoring his 1929 home and cherishing his role as a devoted husband and father.

Ryan’s expertise, commitment to efficiency, and dedication to supporting designers make him an invaluable asset to myBIMteam, contributing to the organization’s continued success in delivering outstanding BIM solutions.

Jason Frontera

BIM Manager

Jason graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a B.Arch and has 18 years of architectural experience at large Boston firms, including five years as a project architect. He has worked on numerous types of projects across different practice groups such as healthcare, higher education, developer housing projects, and offices.

With over ten years of Revit experience, Jason is skilled at building complex Revit families and solving Revit’s more peculiar behaviors. Additionally, he develops basic Dynamo scripts.

Jason’s goal is to help architects, designers, and drafters increase their proficiency in putting their drawing sets together. He doesn’t intend to change how people work, but he will offer advice to simplify methods.

Zachary Carson

BIM Manager

Zachary is a Registered Architect with 8+ years of experience in custom residential and large-scale commercial projects.

His love of problem-solving and finding creative outlets within established systems led him to become a BIM Manager in the summer of 2022. Zach’s experience learning Revit while starting his first job created a passion for education and a desire to provide architects with the tools and vocabulary they need to elevate their designs.

Outside of work, Zach is an avid runner and reader, hot sauce enthusiast, and a busy father of two.

Jon Dalton

BIM Manager

Jon was a BIM Lead with a large MEP firm that designed some of the largest hospitals and laboratories in the country. He was responsible for project coordination, troubleshooting, training, and content creation.

That role led him to Colorado as a BIM technician II with a structural design firm, where he primarily worked on Government and Higher Education projects. This position allowed him to continue the same work as the MEP firm but added more production responsibilities.

Now, we are thrilled to have him as BIM Manager at myBIMteam.

Jon has an Associate’s in Architectural Technology from Madison Area Technical College (MATC) in Wisconsin, which helped him learn he enjoys the innovation of BIM Management. For example, Jon likes exploring the unknown of the design technology realm and experimenting with concepts that have yet to be utilized.

Additionally, Jon enjoys collaborating with others to solve complex issues. This quality builds mutual respect with clients and coworkers, knowing he welcomes them to reach out before spinning their wheels on a problem.

When Jon isn’t working, he spends his time outdoors. He is an Eagle Scout who loves to hunt, fish, backpack, off-road, as well as go snowboarding and mountain biking.

Tracy Palmer

BIM Manager

Tracy is an accomplished CAD professional with over 30 years of experience. For the past 14 years, she has expertly managed The Ohio State University’s Buckeye BIM Initiative, converting over 37 million GSF of existing AutoCAD drawings into 3D Revit models for various building types. Tracy created and implemented the BIMSwitch process, playing a key role in its success. She also trained staff and students in BIM-related tools and actively maintains and updates owners’ models. Tracy is a BIM ambassador who enjoys teaching and supporting others in learning how BIM can work for them.

In addition to her impressive professional accomplishments, Tracy enjoys spending time in her garden, creating pottery, volunteering at her church, and cherishing moments with her family.”

Justin Mello

BIM Manager

Before joining myBIMteam, Justin Mello was a technology-focused architectural practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience in the industry. A Revit Certified Professional from the high-end, single-family residential industry has led to seeking the highest standards for quality Revit model work. Approaching problem-solving by first understanding a client, consultant, or contractor’s needs has honed his ability to identify the right questions and provide clear solutions.

Justin was first drawn to the architecture field through AutoCAD before transitioning to Revit in 2004. Since then, he has spent many years as an in-house BIM Manager, IT liaison, and Revit expert, providing training to staff, creating custom families, and many template updates. More recently, he led BIM Management and IT staff in planning initiatives and training programs. This led to guiding firm-wide adoption of many adjacent software platforms and workflows, including remote work strategies, digital sketching tools, and point-cloud scanning. He is also interested in emerging technology opportunities for the AEC industry and looks forward to learning and supporting his client’s adoption of those tools.

When away from his computer Justin finds joy in trail running, audiobooks, sudoku, attempting acoustic covers of his kids’ favorite pop songs, and outdoor activities with his family any time of the year.

Nick Aggers

BIM Manager

Nick brings a well-rounded skillset to myBIMteam. With 7 years of experience, he has gone from Drafter to Architectural Designer to Project Manager and now BIM Manager. He has worked on various project types, such as multi-family housing, mixed-use developments, universities, and community centers.

He leverages his expertise in Revit and AutoCAD to optimize workflows. He also enjoys automating repetitive tasks with Dynamo scripting. He is actively researching the power of the Revit API to further enhance BIM processes and customize solutions for individuals and firms.

Nick’s interests outside work include exploring new destinations with his partner, playing guitar, and designing logos. He is also a soccer enthusiast, enjoying playing and watching the sport and collecting memorabilia.

Greg Jackson

BIM Technician

Greg Jackson has seven years of experience with BIM, specifically Revit. He has also incorporated Dynamo and Python into his work for visual programming automation. His focus at myBIMteam has been on existing conditions.

What Greg likes most about his work is turning scans into 3D models because it gives him a sense of traveling to these places.

In his free time, Greg likes to play trading card games, read history and philosophy books, and paint, especially with his family.

Jean Bressel

BIM Technician

Jean joined myBIMteam in 2017 as a BIM technician. With her love of building technology and solving complex problems associated with software, like Revit, it was a perfect collaboration.

She focuses on modeling existing conditions from point clouds, creating detailed families, and construction documentation for various projects. However, Jean’s favorite aspect of her job is discovering efficiencies in elaborate projects that require repeatability.

Jean lives in South Florida and enjoys being outdoors, gardening, and frequents the beach or hiking adventures with friends and family.

Bo Ly

BIM Technician

Bo is an architectural designer with 20+ years in retail, hospitality, healthcare, and residential projects.

She has been using AutoCAD since 1994 and enjoys implementing CAD standards and procedures. More specifically, Bo excels at offering companies signature standards that are efficient with company workflow, coordination, support, and training.

Sophia Bassick

Laser Scan & BIM Technician

Sophia is a highly motivated professional in architecture and building design, specializing in 3D/BIM modeling, laser scanning, and visualization.

Her biggest motivation is creating comprehensive plans, models, and images to bring ideas to life for clients and the team. She excels in working with BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, as well as visualization software like Lumion, InDesign, and Procreate. Sophia finds great reward in helping people visualize their ideas and witnessing them come to fruition.

Helping others visualize any project through measuring, modeling, designing, and rendering is her favorite part of the job. Understanding plans for any project helps build relationships between clients, designers, engineers, and more.

She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Building Engineering Technology with an impressive GPA and was recognized as a “Best of Tech” for BArch awardee. A few projects she is most proud of are her senior thesis, where she designed a sustainable recovery center for substance abuse and mental health, and her contributions to designing a mixed-use high-rise building in Providence, RI.

Eric Mifsud

Reality Capture Specialist

Holder of a Part 107 Drone License from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eric brings advanced expertise in terrestrial and mobile laser scanners (SLAM scanners) to myBIMteam and is proficient with equipment from Faro, Trimble, and NavVis.

Additionally, Eric utilizes NavVis Ivion, Trimble RealWorks and Recap software to assemble and ensure the accuracy of point clouds. He strives to ensure customers receive precise and high-quality results.

Eric has his bachelor’s degree In Business Administration from Florida Southern College. He loves to golf, work out, and ride his motorcycle in his free time. Currently, he is determined to break 90 on the golf course!

Heather Babka

Marketing Coordinator

Heather has a Bachelor’s in Communications, an Associate’s in Graphic Arts, and an Associate’s in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design. She spent seven years as an Engineering Technician and Drafter before transitioning to Marketing Specialist at an architecture firm. While there, she focused on a partial re-brand by updating the website with more information, developing new marketing materials, and creating a social media presence.

As Marketing Coordinator for myBIMteam, Heather is excited to share the unique variety of resources our team offers, from teaching Revit, and managing projects, to laser scanning.

Heather and her husband enjoy traveling in their free time but are just as happy to stay home with their two pit bull mixes, two cats, and turtle.
